The Bone Series | Medusas are made primarily of very thin pieces of nearly translucent porcelain with accents of terracotta, black stained stoneware and high temperature wire. The Bone Series is informed by skeletal structures of ocean based organisms both imagined and real. The forms are inspired by the structures of pulsating jellyfish, hence their namesake Medusas. The delicate balance of these pieces give them slight hints of movement and energy. These pieces were all made during a month long residency at Buffalo Creek Art Center in Gardnerville Nevada.
