This week, outside the studio…

spent our 20th wedding anniversary weekend in SF and walked the bridge
us….20 years married, 24 together. wouldn’t change a thing.
treated ourselves to an eight course omikase sushi dinner at AN in Japantown… everything was AMAZING
went to NJ to visit family + friends, we did get a chance at some excellent pizza, right before we all got covid : /

Bowie keep cool nearly falling asleep in the creek at one of our fav camping spots / some pinecrest lake time with the fam
angelique kidjo concert at stern grove in sf this summer
two new crochet projects, one chunky cozy and another set of dog jammies for Bowie’s cousin Junie
helped Cynthia Siegel install her prince (who I named Henry) at Sierra Azul Gardens in Watsonville

This week, outside the studio…

finally got my waterproof camera in the water with me, the water is warming up and we’re getting some lovely evening swims in
had a really nice escape weekend up to Bodega Bay, with lots of good food, doggie playtime, walks and fun family

treated to a sudden and swift thunderstorm at our favorite camp spot which left us with some epic cloud days, bowie could care less about the clouds and spends pretty much the entire time in the water chasing rocks and picking rocks up off the bottom of the river

these photos are from last summer, I haven’t dug out my waterproof camera yet, but I have been back in the ocean swimming,
despite the foggy, drizzly days we’ve been having …. so looking forward to the glassy blues of summer soon.

still getting some hikes in before the weather gets too hot, thinking about starting back up swimming and enjoying the flowers
Nate’s grandma turned 103 and his sister got married, lots to celebrate!

we backpacked 40+ miles through the paria canyon in southern UT/northern AZ over 4 days and 3 nights

our feet were wet all day, we all fell in quicksand and deep mud multiple times but what an epic trip with these two adventure buddies

outside scoop: 20

This week, outside the studio…

We got two more legs of the Bay Area Ridge Trail checked off the list, as we walked from the northern end of Pacifica to Lake Merced in SF and then to Stern Grove in SF. It was just under 9 miles total which took us about 3 hours of walking and then we took a Lyft back to our car which took about 15 minutes. Very fun to take these urban hikes to places we’ve only driven past, a totally new perspective.
We’ve been spending a lot of time enjoying hanging out in Santa Cruz as the weather has warmed up and dried up. Playing on the cliffs eating oysters isn’t the worst way to spend the weekend.
Next week we head out for a four day 40 mile backpacking trip in Utah/Arizona, so we’ve started piling up the gear and getting Bowie ready with his pack- he seems excited for the adventure. I’ll hopefully have some great photos to share with you when we return!

This week, outside the studio…

the best part about hiking the Bay Area Ridge Trail is meeting up with friends for beers!
took Bowie to the snow for the first time and his inner husky definitely knew what to do with it! he had fun playing with his cousin Junie while we skied for the first time in 15 years – we’re amazed we remembered how!
hikes, rainbows and spring flowers, it’s not the worst way to spend winter
didn’t need to go to the sierras to get some snow this week – so bizarre to see Santa Cruz like this

got another Bay Area Ridge Trail checked off the list and after a 9+ mile hike, we treated ourselves to some amazing sandwiches at Dad’s Luncheonette in Half Moon Bay

forgot to share this last week but we celebrated my husband Nate’s 49th birthday with friends, fifty oysters and blueberry pie
randomly rescued a turtle that was trying to cross a busy street | spent an evening at El Vaquero Winery in Corralitos which had some very tasty wines available during an event to support the Teen Kitchen Project!

as training for an upcoming backpacking trip we’ll be doing later this spring in wet conditions, we took advantage of the rainy day and hiked up the creek in Nisene Marks sometimes getting into thigh deep waters, it is one of my absolute favorite spots in our area and even though we were cold and soaked, we had such a fun day in the woods
